frequently asked questions

What are the entry requirements for Costa Rica?

As of April 1, 2022 Costa Rica has revoked all entry requirements in regards to Covid-19.

A valid passport is all that is required for entry.

Is the water okay to drink?

Yes, we drink out of the tap all day everyday.

Will you be able to accommodate food allergies/ restrictions?

Yes, absolutely. Once your spot is confirmed we will gather more information about everyone’s dietary preferences and create a menu with the retreat center’s chef. You can expect an abundance of the most incredible tropical fruits & local organic vegetables.

What is the weather like?

Hot & humid. You will sweat, a lot. The days are anywhere between 80-90F and the night cools down between 70-80F.  The retreat center is surrounded by the jungle so we’ll have a lot of coverage from the hot sun during the days. You can expect rain showers in the afternoons (like in Florida).

Is it safe?

Yes, completely. Madison has been traveling here alone for the past three years without problem. The people are kind, the city you are flying into is heavily populated, and these coastal towns thrive off tourism so the energy is extremely welcoming.

Do I need to know Spanish?

No, you can get by just fine with English. Caitlin knew (actually) four words prior to coming and she’s been making it work ever since.

What can I do there?

The opportunities are endless. The retreat center is surrounded by a diverse jungle leaving us completely submerged in nature. A river runs along the property for you to explore. The most beautiful beaches are a 10 minute car ride away. You can hike in the magical rainforest, trail through the Bamboo forest, submerge yourself in rivers & the pacific, & explore some of the most amazing waterfalls!

There are so many opportunities for your off-days as well! Go zip-lining, surfing, atving, whale watching, snorkeling, horseback riding, parasailing, or even repel down some waterfalls! We have made a lot of connections with a lot of really incredible people so if you have something you want to do just let us know & we’ll find it for you!

What is Uvita like?

Uvita is a small village on the southwest coast of Costa Rica. It is notable for being located where the mountains most closely reach the Pacific Ocean and is the closest village to Marino Ballena National Park. This tropical paradise has the most magical charm in an unspoiled and serene atmosphere. With palm trees swaying in the wind, providing shady relief from the intense Pacific sun, there is plenty of outdoor options in this tropical paradise!

How much freedom will I have?

As much as you want to give yourself. The choice to come here is about you and we want to honor that in whatever way we can. This space is an opportunity for you to really dive into yourself. That may look like coming to all that we have to offer or none of it all. Seriously, this trip is yours.
